Children and Youth Programs
Coming of Age for Junior High Youth
Coming of Age helps our junior high youth begin their successful passage into their
teen years as Unitarian Universalists. The program begins each year in June and
includes Sunday morning religious education, time with the Director of Religious
Education and Minister to explore questions of UU faith and identity, a group social
action project, and participation in District youth camps. A final retreat prepares
Coming of Age youth for writing their own statement of belief, which is shared with
the congregation during a special worship service.
Senior High Youth Group
The Youth Group meets at Noon on the first and third Sundays of each month for
discussion and fun activities led by experienced Youth Advisors.
Chalice Camp for UU Kids
Chalice Camp is a summer half-day camp for children ages 6-10 held during the second
week of July each year. Chalice Camp provides the opportunity for children to grow
in their Unitarian Universalist identity and faith while having fun with their peers.
The camp is directed by the Director of Religious Education and volunteer youth and
adult camp counselors. Registration forms are available in May.
District Camps for UU Children, Youth, and Families
The Pacific Southwest District of the Unitarian Universalist Association hosts winter
and summer camps for children, youth, and families at Camp De Benneville Pines in the
mountains of Southern California. For more information about camp dates and registration
requirements visit
